The West Augustine Health and Wellness Center: A Holistic Approach to Health
The West Augustine Historical Community Development Corporation (CDC) is developing a new center dedicated to the wellness of the West Augustine Community. We're collaborating with key stakeholders across the Greater St. Augustine area to bring a holistic approach that addresses social, economic, and health issues, ultimately improving the quality of life for disadvantaged residents in St. Augustine and St. Johns County.
This Health and Wellness Center will be a go-to destination for urgent and preventive healthcare services. The West Augustine Health and Wellness Center will empower users with knowledge about proactive healthcare strategies, aiming to improve residents' well-being and reduce reliance on emergency rooms for less critical health concerns.
The West Augustine Health and Wellness Center will emphasize illness prevention by influencing behavioral changes that promote proper diet, increased health check-ups, and regular exercise. A key goal is to redirect residents to the Center as a primary alternative to emergency room visits for non-emergency health issues. Our overall aim is to lower healthcare costs while increasing access to a comprehensive range of health services for our most vulnerable, illness-prone population.
