Derry Greene is a retired 30-year Air Force Chief Master Sergeant. Greene also retired from the Department of Homeland Security after a second career as Director, Business Management Office, Office of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs. In this position, he was responsible for a $20M+ budget and oversaw all human relations actions, purchasing contracts, security operations, and all credit card functions.
While in the Air Force, CMSgt Greene held the prestigious position of Superintendent of the Operations Group, home to the USAF Honor Guard and the USAF Band. His primary duties entailed daily ceremonies at the Arlington National Cemetery and the Nation’s Capital.
After his second retirement, Greene moved back home to St Augustine and caught the community relations bug and served eight years as Commander of the Alton Green Memorial American Legion Post, home of the State Award Winning Kids Safe Zone Program and the Veteran’s Centennial Park.
Mrs. Dorothy J. Williams has been a member of the West Augustine Historical Community Development Corporation since 2011, currently serving as Recording Secretary and Finance Committee member.
Community Affiliation includes Director of American Legion Post 194 Kids Safe Zone Program at the St. Luke A.M.E. Church site since 2010; Member of St. Luke A.M.E. Church, St. Augustine, FL; volunteer at local schools.
Work Experience: Retired educator (35.5 years) St. John County District Schools
Director of Housing and Community Development for St. Johns County for 12 years and was the Director of the St. Johns County Housing Finance Authority. Prior to that, I served as Director of the Housing Authority in Greenwich, CT, for 12 years and have managed state and federal housing programs while working for the US Dept of Housing and Urban Development and the Virginia Housing Development Authority. It combines for a total of 40 years in affordable housing.
